AI for Contractors

AI for General Contractors

General contractors benefit from AI in lead handling (AI captures and qualifies every inbound inquiry), estimating support (AI collects project details before you quote), milestone invoicing (automated billing tied to project stages), and follow-up (automatic contact with leads who didn't book after receiving a quote).

General contracting involves longer sales cycles than trade contracting. A homeowner renovating their kitchen is getting quotes from 3 companies over 2–3 weeks. A commercial client issuing an RFQ has a defined decision timeline. In both cases, consistent follow-up during the decision period is critical — and often neglected.

AI follow-up for GC leads: after a quote is submitted, AI sends messages at day 3, day 10, and day 21. Each references the specific project and offers to answer questions or adjust scope. Leads that weren't ready at quote time often convert during the follow-up window.

Lead intake: when a new inquiry comes in (call, web form, text), AI captures the project details through a short qualification conversation before routing to the estimator. 'What type of renovation? What's the scope? Target start date?' These questions save estimator time and ensure quote requests arrive with enough context to be useful.

Common questions

AI can collect project information (scope, photos, timeline, budget range) that reduces estimator site visit time. The actual estimating — material takeoffs, labour hours, subcontractor quotes — still requires human expertise. AI is the intake assistant, not the estimator.
