Integrations
Polemica integrates with Stripe to include payment links in automated invoices and reminders, collect deposits or full payment at the time of booking, and record payment completion automatically. Clients pay via a secure Stripe link — no phone calls, no invoicing back-and-forth, no manual payment recording.
Payment collection is one of the highest-friction points in the small service business workflow. The job is done. The invoice goes out. The client says they'll pay. A week passes. A reminder is sent. Another week. A phone call. Another reminder. The payment arrives three weeks after the job was completed.
The friction exists because each step requires either the business owner or the client to take action manually. Stripe integration with Polemica eliminates the friction by making payment the path of least resistance from the first invoice.
How it works:
At booking: Polemica can be configured to collect a deposit via Stripe at the time of appointment confirmation. The client receives a payment link as part of their booking confirmation. The deposit is processed immediately; the booking is confirmed.
At job completion: When the job closes, Polemica generates an invoice with a Stripe payment link included. The client taps the link, enters payment information, and the payment is processed — typically the same day the invoice arrives.
Payment reminders: For unpaid invoices, Polemica sends automated reminders at configured intervals (7, 14, 30 days) with the payment link included in each message. Each reminder is an additional low-friction opportunity to pay without requiring the client to contact the business.
For service businesses that have experienced the cash flow impact of delayed payments, Stripe integration changes the payment cycle from weeks-after-completion to same-day or next-day — without requiring the business owner to chase each payment individually.
Common questions
Stripe's standard payment methods: credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), debit cards, and in supported markets, Apple Pay and Google Pay. For trades businesses where clients are accustomed to paying by cheque, the Stripe integration typically reduces cheque payments significantly because the card payment option is faster and easier.
